Beijing day tour

"Authentic Beijing!" Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City (Gugong), the imperial palace of China's emperors. Learn how the palace was laid out according to feng shui, how the imperial family lived and worked, and the secrets of the dynasties.

Lunch is Peking duck at a restaurant where locals eat, not a tourist spot. After lunch, as the Chinese do, we visit a tea house for a tea ceremony and an introduction to Chinese tea culture.

Then we head to the Temple of Heaven, where you will learn why the God of Heaven played such a central role in ancient China and why ordinary people revered their emperor. Optional evening: Beijing acrobatics show. Transfer back to the hotel.
